Webinar: Increasing the Number of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Sites, Account Access, and Economic Inclusion in South Dakota

On February 24, 2021 at 1:00pm Mountain Time, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will host a webinar to discuss economic inclusion, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, and the need to increase the number of sites in South Dakota. Our Executive Director, Lakota Vogel, will be showcasing our work with delivering free tax preparation services to Cheyenne River Reservation residents. Resources that can be used to educate tax filers, such as the FDIC Money Smart program, #Get Banked Initiative, and the importance of encouraging unbanked low/moderate income tax filers to open a bank account will also be discussed.
