By supporting Four Bands, you are creating economic opportunity for Native American entrepreneurs and families on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and in the state of South Dakota. You will be partnering with us to replace poverty and dependency with employment and self-sufficiency.

Community Impact Investing is a type of investing that has become more popular in recent years as more people are becoming aware of how they can use their dollars to make a difference in the world. Community Impact Investing not only brings a financial return, but also creates some type of a positive social impact.
Investing with Four Bands
Investing in Four Bands Community Fund is an excellent way for individuals to make their money matter while creating economic opportunity for others in the communities we serve. Four Bands offers flexible terms and rates to help you meet your investment goals. Your financial return will be similar to that of a certificate of deposit, but the social and economic impact of your investment will really be something to talk about.
Four Bands uses funds from our investors to relend to Native entrepreneurs that are starting or expanding a business. In addition, we use any revenue generated from our lending program to fund our asset building and youth programs. You can be assured that your investment in Four Bands will have a direct impact on job creation and retention, increasing income, and building financial skills for Native American individuals and families.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a Native community development financial institution (CDFI) certified by the US Treasury, Four Bands is an excellent investment vehicle for those looking to create sustainable community impact.
Independent Rating
While Four Bands is not a federally regulated financial institution, we have received a rating from Aeris, an information service for community investors who champion economic justice in underserved markets. Since 2004, Aeris has provided data, analysis, and advisory services that support investment in CDFIs. Aeris’ proprietary CDFI ratings tool helps investors evaluate opportunities that meet their impact goals and risk parameters. More than 50 of the nation’s leading community investors subscribe to Aeris’ data and analysis products.
Impact Performance Rating: Three Stars
Four Bands received three out of four potential stars for our Impact Performance Rating. A CDFI in this group has a clear alignment of mission, strategies, activities, and data that guides is programs and planning. We accurately track appropriate output data that indicates we are using our resources effectively to benefit our target populations or communities in line with our mission. We use our data on an ongoing basis to adjust strategies and activities in accordance with our desired impact. CDFIs with this rating may track a limited number of impact indicators as well, but impact data tracking may not be rigorous or consistent.
Policy Plus
Four Bands received the Policy Plus rating. Policy change is an integral part of this CDFI’s strategies. Four Bands leads initiatives to change government policy to benefit the community development finance industry or disadvantaged people and communities. We have provided evidence of its leadership role in recent policy changes that produced benefits beyond additional resources for the CDFI itself, and management can clearly articulate the CDFI’s leadership role in current policy activities.
Financial Strength and Performance Rating: BBB-
A BBB- rating indicates that we have satisfactory financial strength and performance and risk management practices relative to our size, complexity, and risk profile. We are stable but vulnerable to significant fluctuations in our operating environment.
