Our tax preparation service brought $2M to Cheyenne River households!

Every year Four Bands operates a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site where we help people file their income tax returns free of charge. An important part of this work is making sure they claim all of the tax credits they can, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). This year, the EITC added an average of $1,940 to each refund we processed. Our staff and volunteers worked through this year’s tax season to help our local families.
600 income tax returns prepared and e-filed at our VITA site.
$2,013,141 in tax refunds delivered to our community members.
$535,591 in Earned Income Tax Credits claimed.
