As Director of Lending at Four Bands, Kristen Stambach is responsible for managing our revolving loan fund program that provides loan capital to support business development, including in the agricultural sector, and homeownership. Under her leadership for the last decade, the volume of our loan portfolio has grown five-fold. Ensuring optimal performance while keeping pace with this trajectory, Kristen continually guides our loan department through on-going enhancement and standardization of loan procedures. In addition, she manages the pipeline and workflow, monitors delinquencies, and administers the collections process. Kristen manages a team of five staff members in our loan department who collectively deploy over $9 million in loans annually. Kristen has played a critical role in digitizing our loan application process and continues to lead decisions regarding software and technology adaptations within the loan department. As a leader in the Native CDFI field, Kristen previously served as a mentor for the Native American Agriculture Fund ag underwriting school and currently sits on the loan committee for the Mountain | Plains Native CDFI Coalition’s revolving loan fund. She regularly coaches other loan officers and speaks on panels at national conferences.
Kristen holds an Agricultural Business degree from Western Dakota Tech and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Black Hills State University. She is certified as a USDA 502 Direct Loan Application Packager and is also certified in financial social work. Since joining the Four Bands team in 2010, Kristen has held many positions within the organization, including Youth Programs Coordinator, Credit Building Specialist, and Loan and Outcomes Coordinator. A native to the area, she grew up on a buffalo ranch and currently resides near Red Scaffold, South Dakota. She enjoys spending time with her family and all things horses. In her spare time, she loves to learn new crafts.
