Homeownership Rooted in Culture, Built for the Future
At Four Bands Community Fund, our home mortgage product is more than financing it’s a pathway to long-term stability, generational wealth, and community strength. Grounded in our Icahya Woecun (“The Place to Grow”) model, we combine Lakota values with best practices to guide individuals and families through every step of their homeownership journey.
Since 2000, Four Bands has been a leader in Native American community and economic development, serving the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and communities across South Dakota. Our approach to homeownership reflects our broader mission: to create equitable opportunities by integrating financial education, asset building, and personalized support.
Through our mortgage program, we provide more than access to capital. We offer culturally grounded guidance, financial literacy resources, and ongoing support designed to help borrowers succeed not just at closing, but for the long term. Our work is rooted in the Lakota values of self-sufficiency, wise resource management, and a spirit of entrepreneurship, translating these principles into practical tools for today’s economy.
We understand that homeownership can be a powerful step toward financial security. That’s why we are committed to removing barriers, shifting outdated systems, and creating pathways that honor both tradition and innovation.
At Four Bands, we don’t just finance homes, we help build thriving futures for Native American individuals, families, and communities.
